Planning a trip to Eastern Cape? Be sure to get some local beer from Emerald Vale Brewing Company. It is a fairly new brewery. The brewer Chris Heaton says: I just started about 3 month ago . It is a very small  brewery and I brew around  1.600 l/month. I started up and did it as a hobby until I got the license some months ago.
I do 3 different ales. Emerald Vale Gold, Amber and Pale (all approx ABV 5.6%).  They are all grain, nothing else except 6ml of lactic Acid /100l to get the water PH correct.

Emerald Vale Brewing Company supply the immediate local Chintsa area for now. Avaliable at the Barefoot cafe  (on tap), the  Buccaneers Backpacker Hostel (on bottles) , Michaela’s (Bottles), Crawford’s Beach Lodge (Tap), Chintsa West Pub and Grub (on tap), Chintsa East Bottle store. You could also get some tasters at the brewery.
